Since Cyclone Analogic don't seem to link it on their site anymore, here's a link for anyone who needs it, today or in the future.
The procedure didn't work for me at first, using the midi ports on a Saffire PRO 24. I dug out an old Midisport 4x4, which (eventually) worked.
The procedure calls for holding down the write button (during the entire update - how stupid is that?) - which is rather wobbly. The procedure failed several times because I couldn't hold down the button in a steady way. When it finally worked, I had steady pressure on the lower side of the button.
If your TT-303 appears to get bricked (won't turn on) by a failed attempt, don't lose hope. The device will recognise the upgrade anyway, if done properly.
