On/off switch on power strip instead of gear

This question is not really related to synths specifically. Let's say I have a bunch of synths or other audio gear hooked up to a single power strip with an on/off button on it. Is it okay to just use that button to turn off all of these synths or should I use the on/off switches on all of the gear individually? I am guessing that it depends on the gear. At present I have Modal Argon8, an Arturia soundcard, and two genelec active monitors hooked up to the power strip. Would be a time saver to turn all of those on/off with one button but I want to make sure this is not detrimental to my equipment.
