Question about the poly800 memory

Hi guys, some of you are probably familiar with the korg poly 800 and the fact that you can solder a cr2032 battery holder to have memory.

Well i bought one to a dude who did that but i still lose everything whenever i turn it off and don't immediately turn it back on.

I know how to load the factory presets with the tape audio so i still have to do that every time but i can't save my own presets.

I don't know much about electronic but do i maybe need to change the cr2032 with a new one ? Maybe the travel harmed it ? Do I have to regulary change it ? Isn't it supposed to be charged by the power supply ? Thanks for anyone that can enlighten me Smile
