I just got a case from reverb and this doo-hicky is in there. Anyone know what it is?

Like the title says, I got a used case from reverb and while I was migrating my modules to it I noticed this Mutable instruments thing plugged into it. I have no clue what it is or if its ok to remove. The case is a Doepfer A-100 LC9 if that makes any difference.
