Linux Audio Workstation Build

Hi all, scott here. I am looking into building an audio workstation with ubuntu/studio and was curious if anyone had any advice or recent builds they are happy with Smile

What is your favorite DAW available on linux?

Is it more difficult to work with synthesizers/audio hardware on linux?
