Reliable midi to cv.

So I’m playing with eurorack and my computer for a larger project I want to do. I’ve been doing video work with it I finally got a Kinect setup. So I’m using motion tracking to send midi to my synth. The issue is I’m using my ornament and crime to take the midi in. It feels like such a waste to use a module that’s so capable to do only midi, also it tends to miss messages more often then I’d like. Tested it by sending Ableton with a note on every beat like a clock and it seems to miss every few randomly. I need at least two channels but 4 would be perfect, and I don’t need any fancy functions, just be able to control pitch, and volume for each channel. I was eyeing the 2hp midi but I’m not sure if the gate is mapped to velocity or just note on note off. I was also thinking about diy with a teensy and a few dacs. Just not sure what to go with.
