What will adding MIDI-out on Volca Keys do?

I'm fairly new to the analog synth game. Just recently acquired the Volca Keys. I love it and feel as though I'm really making progress in my synth journey.

I've recently seen that it can be modded to have a MIDI-out along with the MIDI-in. I am utilizing the in with a controller but would like to know what the out will do for it?
