Argon 8 as a first Poly Synth?

I'm looking to buy my first poly Synth and I keep coming back to the Argon 8. The others I was looking at are the Hydrasynth and Korg Wave state.

I currently have Model D for my Heavy mono sounds.

Budget less than $1000.
