How do I do all of this?

So, I've been a producer for a long time. I've recently decided I want to try out live jamming, and recording that into my daw, and making music that way. I know that I have to have either an audio interface or mixer in order to record into my daw.. So, at the moment I have a volca sample, and a behringer td3. I have been searching high and low on how to sync these 2 up, and how to get audio out of both at the same time. It is my understanding that for that I also need an interface or mixer. At first I'd like to keep the daw put of the equation. So is an interface all I need to get audio out of both in my monitors? Or just a mixer? I'm so lost on all of this, and can not find any straight forward information on where to start and how all of this works. If I want to play my volca with the td3 qhat do I need? I can sync them, I've done those, but I don't get any audio out of the td3. Only the volca. I was thinking about also buying a mikrofreak, but I'm not going to until I can figure this stuff out. Where do I begin? What cords or additional gear do I need? Where do I go to figure all of this stuff out? Is it different for every synth setup? Can someone just simplify the process? I'm starting to get a headache.
