Does my indie game count as a synth?

Its level editor is a DAW:

Instruments are pulled from samples, then pitch shifted and adjusted and sequenced into a final song! Everything is done in-engine; the only MP3s involved are the samples.

This lets me do a lot of really cool stuff! For example, all of the sound effects pitch shift to match up with the music. Like this:
