How to remove bass station 2 knobs?

How to remove bass station 2 knobs?

Has anyone had experience taking off the knobs of the bass station 2. i need to get to the pcb to replace some switches but cant really see how to take the knobs of?

Just tried using the thinnest spanner i have, even that seems stupidly big to fit underneath.
