Techniques using 2 filters?

<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>I've noticed there are some synths which employ two filters, such as Matriarch and Quadrantid Swarm, which are patched in series. I was wondering what might be the benefit of setting up two filters this way? More broadly, what are some techniques which use two filter modules?
