hi im looking for a hardware sampler with a limited set of features that will allow me to focus on making beats (mostly hiphop) rather than feeling lost because of the amount of features that it might offer. i bought a used maschine mk3 two months ago but feel like selling it because although i think its faster and easier to use than ableton, i think i want something even more limited. i rather sketch an idea in the sampler and then build it out in a daw where i can do arrangement and add synths and effects and stuff.
im looking for something in the sub 1000 dollar price range, and so far the sp404 mk2 and elektron digitakt seem like the most viable options. the mpcs arent really of interest to me because they just seem like daws in a box. could anyone explain the difference in workflow between the sp404 and digitakt or recommend another sampler? thanks
