Behringer Model D + Logic’s MIDI Arpeggiator doesn’t work very well

How do I get my Behringer Model D to work flawlessly with the MIDI arpeggiator in Logic? If I press a key on my MIDI keyboard the arpeggiation doesn’t start immediately. At first when I hit and hold a note it plays it like a regular hit, and then starts the arp after a second.
