How is the step sequencer in the Squarp Pyramid ?

I love the step sequencer in the Minilogue XD. I find it really fun and easy to use.

How is the step sequencer in the pyramid ? I heard that it doesn't automatically move to the next step when you insert a note. Is that true ?

How is your experience on it ?
