Modules which process LFOs to create patterns (similar to MD Coherence module)?

I'm really drawn to the Metabolic Devices Coherence module, and how it can take any two signals to create wonky gate patterns and pitch CV. The MD website claims this is a new kind of module, but I wonder how unique this kind of processing module is. I have a small case so investing the 16hp (and $389) is intimidating. Are there other modules that do this similar kind of processing?
