Ableton CV Tools vs. VCV Rack question

Hey

I can send 8 channels of CV from my computer to my rack and right now I use Ableton CV tools to do so, but I heard you can use VCV Rack for this.

My rack only has Assimil8or and Quad Op so I usually send varying Envelopes to the Quad Op and I send LFOs to Assimil8or Sample Pitch and Start time.

I actually also found out that if you use an arpeggiator in a certain way to trigger Assimil8or, the sample will play from start to finish and the pitch will change without retriggering the sample which is awesome. It’s a little frustrating that the pitch shifting is coupled to the rate, and there is no time stretching because that would really make this feature awesome. Anyways, I should post a demo of it.

Back to the thread, I’m contemplating how to send more creative CV to my rack - does anyone know any VCV modules that would work well for me to expand my patching? I’m a newb to VCV.

Maybe someone out there has used CV tools and VCV and can share their knowledge.

I was also wondering if my existing rack is capable of feedback patching? Assimil8or, Quad Op, Es-3, Es-6.
