Keystep pro question

Does anyone have experience mapping drum sounds to a Keystep Pro? I have an alesis sr-16 and I only ever get the first "Kit" when I use the drum sequencer on the Keystep. Even when the pads on the alesis will give me different sounds. Advice? Ridicule?
