How much of a Novation BSII is living inside of the Novation Peak?

I'm thinking about selling my Bass Station II in order to help fund buying a Peak. I've heard people say that there's some overlap in the sound between those two synths, and that having both is a bit redundant. I am aware of the vast differences between these two models, mono vs poly, afx mode, DCO vs Oxford, physical keys, etc. But I was hoping to find out a little more about peoples subjective opinions on just the feel of the raw tone space these two synths share. Can the Peak also be a gutsy bass synth?

If you've used both, let me know what you think.
