How do i make my chords sound less cheesey

Open to any advice and i play a lot of chords and pads and at the moment they all sound cheeeeeessey.

I open to pedal, VST effects suggestions, chord voicing, modulation ideas itch ideas anything you can thing of.

One thing that i did see the other day which seemed to do the trick on some synths chords was the Shallow Water pedal. This is way out of my price range tho
