What makes oscillators sound different?

Don’t all oscillators work with the same basic design elements and build up on them? What gives them that different sound and identity? I know this question sounds stupid but I can’t wrap my head around it and I couldn’t find any meaningful results when I researched it. I’m sure there are tons of factors that go into this but I just want to know the logic behind it.
