comPLAInTS: Plaits vs Anti-Plaits showdown of 2023 - SynthWizard - 02-02-2023 comPLAInTS: Plaits vs Anti-Plaits showdown of 2023

I dove into modular end of Dec 22 and have been building a rack I’m super happy with (shoutout to this sub), but I do not own a single Mutable Instruments module due to the timing of their shutdown.

My question is how good is Plaits really? Is it “no-rack-is-complete-without-Plaits” good?

Naturally I favor warm analog tones/saturation from analog VCOs, but as I continue to build my rack I’m wondering if Plaits (or a plaits clone at this point) would be the next logical step to get a wider variety of sounds. Currently I have an MCO to help with that. I know the point of modular is getting modules that fit your style, but the popularity of Plaits can’t be ignored.

Thanks!

submitted by /u/Greylockk
[link] [comments] |
