Looking for child-friendly gear for my son's birthday.

My son is 4 next month and I'd like to get him something that he can make noise/music with to some degree. Currently he has one of those typical children's keyboards that can trigger songs for him to play along with. I've noticed that he isn't playing the keys so much as he is focused on triggering a song or beat and then dancing like a maniac. This has got me thinking that he might enjoy something with pads as opposed to keys, and perhaps something that triggers samples or music. Does anyone know of anything out there which could be worth looking into? I'm totally open to anything. I may even just go and buy a small synth so that he can gain some experience in tweaking knobs and sliders to shape a sound. I really am open to any suggestions - thanks so much!

submitted by /u/GeoffAturax
[link] [comments]
